We are looking for a qualified and experienced lab manager to oversee the operations of our coal mine laboratory. The lab manager will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of the coal analysis, maintaining the laboratory equipment and instruments, managing the laboratory staff and budget, and complying with all relevant safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities:

• Planning and coordinating the daily activities of the laboratory
• Supervising and training the laboratory technicians and assistants
•  Ensuring the compliance of the laboratory with ISO 17025 and other quality management systems
•  Performing and reviewing coal analysis and reporting the results to the mine management and clients
•  Calibrating and maintaining the laboratory equipment and instruments
•  Implementing and enforcing the laboratory safety and environmental policies and procedures Managing the laboratory budget and inventory
•  Liaising with external stakeholders such as suppliers, auditors, regulators, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

• A degree or diploma in Chemistry, Metallurgy, or related field
•  At least 5 years of experience in a coal mine laboratory or similar environment
•  Knowledge of coal sampling, preparation, and testing methods and standards
• Proficiency in MS Office and laboratory software
•  Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving.
