We are seeking an experienced Wash Plant Manager to join our team in Newcastle/Dundee. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operation of our wash plant facility, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The Wash Plant Manager will report to the Mining Operations Manager and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure that our mining operations are optimized.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operation of the wash plant facility, including maintenance, production, and safety
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the wash plant facility
- Monitor production targets and implement strategies to optimize plant performance
- Ensure that the wash plant facility operates in compliance with safety and environmental regulations and policies
- Manage the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, including scheduling and coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance
- Manage inventory levels for chemicals, parts, and supplies, and coordinate with procurement as needed
- Monitor and control plant operating costs, including labor, energy, and materials
- Ensure that all employees receive appropriate training and comply with safety and environmental regulations and policies
- Provide leadership and direction to plant personnel, including scheduling, coaching, and performance management
- Maintain accurate records of plant production, maintenance activities, and safety incidents
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Mining Operations Manager
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field
- 7+ years of experience in a wash plant management or related role in the mining industry
- Knowledge of mining operations, wash plant operations, and regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if needed
